THE Papua New Guinea Hunters have named an extended 20-man squad for Sunday’s Round 5 Queensland Cup match against the Easts Tigers in Brisbane.
Having fallen to a very good Northern Pride side 34-18 last Saturday in Kokopo, Michael Marum has reacted by naming a large squad for the trip to Queensland. Included in the side is prop Timothy Lomai, who has been shifted to the backrow partnering David Loko at the expense of Brandy Peter who has been out of the squad. In the other surprise selection, Kumul Dion Aiye has been given a shot in the 20 and could earn a bench spot as cover for captain Israel Eliab. Noel Zemming retains the No.7 jumper of the back of his goal kicking which is certain to come into play at Langlands Park. Rugged prop Esau Siune has been added to the extended bench. SP Hunters: Adex Wera, Garry Lo, Thompson Teteh, Albert Patak, George Benson, Israel Eliab, Noel Zemming, Mark Mexico, Wartovo Puara, Gonzela Urakusie, David Loko, Timothy Lomai, Sebastian Pandia, Roger Laka, Willie Minoga, Lawrence Tu’u, Dion Aiye, Noel Joel, Esau Siune, Edward Goma (two to be omitted).
