Mendi Muruks Mioks to clash with Muruks By KEVIN TEME Pos Courier Dubbed as “Mangi long Ples” the Enga Provincial Government Mioks faces a steep challenge against the Structural Bridging System Mendi Muruks in today's Digicel Cup major semi finals at the Lloyd Robson Oval. Mioks must not repeat previous season’s habit of coming to the finals and losing but put their difference aside if they are to give a good run for their money against the Muruks. It has been revealed that in house politics among players and coaching management has dragged this team back unlike the start or ordinary rounds of the Digicel Cup competition. Enga Mioks That can affect the performances of the players but for Muruks, they have one aim and that is to win this game for a record five premiership appearances in seven years. Won three premierships, was the runner in 2010 behind Bintangor Goroka Lahanis and lost two semi finals including this will make three finals appearances. The winner of this game meets minor premiers Agmark Gurias in the grand final next weekend at the same venue. Muruks arrived on Thursday in Port Moresby to prepare early for the challenge and are expecting a full house Muruks supporters to be there on the game. For Mioks, nothing is impossible having beaten Muruks in the finals but with the neutral venue, the team with the better side with less mistakes will come home. It is set to be firy encounter as players will also be vying for the Kumuls selection in which for the last two years, most of the Highlands franchise particularly Muruks and Mioks have missed out. Mioks will be banking on their only Kumul player and skipper David Loko while for Muruks, man of the moment Kewa Kili will need to maintain his top form to lead his side. Loko will be assisted by Senth Angra, Jeffery Maino and little general Roger Laka while for Muruks, veteran player and utility player Charlie Wabo, Joseph Omae and Mathew Puke are few names that can rise up to the occasions. Meanwhile the man in charge of this game will be Wayne Wool, a Superintendent, Underground Development officer of the Pogera Gold mine (read separate story of him in the weekend courier).
