Two domestic television broadcasters have been selected to provide coverage for the 2015 Pacific Games and a 24-hour coverage of the event each day.
CEO Peter Stewart said the Games committee have signed on EMTV and Click Pacific Limited as domestic right holders for the broadcast. EMTV will be PNG's lead broadcaster of the games and will broadcast up to 24 hours a day on free to air TV throughout PNG, and will also hold the exclusive broadcast rights to broadcast the games live from 6 to 9 pm daily. Mr. Stewart said EMTV will also be asked to do a live coverage of the Opening and Closing ceremonies and stream their coverage through the internet and mobile applications on a non exclusive basis. EMTV and Media NiuGini Limited CEO Bhanu Sud said a lot of people in the country will be able to watch the games because of their mass market television coverage, and they are thrilled about the opportunity. He said they will also be launching an exciting new show called the "Road to Port Moresby 2015 Games" on the 10th of September, which will feature progressive updates and preparations for the games. Click Pacific is a new television company which will be launched in October, and will be broadcasting up to 24 hours a day of Games on Pay TV throughout PNG and the Pacific. Comments are closed.
