Tura the Official Mascot of the 2015 Pacific Games was part of the Port Moresby Clean Up exercisethat was held on Saturday. The Clean Up exercise is part of the ‘’OI MAI MOSBI’’ program in preparing the city to host the 15th Pacific Games in July. The campaign is to assure the Pacific Nations that we are ready to deliver the Games in a clean, healthy and safe city. This initiative is to make the city clean with the main objective of promoting ‘A Clean City, A Healthy City & Safe City’ ready for the Pacific Games and beyond into the future. It involves many of the city’s local residents in an attempt to create a safer, cleaner and more vibrant Port Moresby in light of the Pacific Games and other international events to be hosted in the Nation’s Capital. Tura being part of the team also signifies the Games experience and spirit in gearing up the city residents for the Games. The mascot also provide overwhelming photo opportunities for the public as everyone cheered up for clean up with Tura the Kokomo. The Clean Up exercise started at 8.30 am at Jack Pidik Park all the way to Boroko Tabari place where it finished at 1.30pm. Two more major clean ups are scheduled on 14th and 28th June 2015 just before the Games.The Public is encouraged to join on these date to help clean up the city. -portmoresby2015.com
