A grade 12 student is amongst three people arrested over the weekend, for the killing of a journalism student from the Divine Word University last Friday.
Police Investigators say a fourth suspect is on the run as investigations continue into late Nigel Laki's death. The late Laki is fromMalu village of the Ambunti District of East Sepik. The student suspect is a Grade 12 student at Tusbab Secondary, and was apprehended together with two others. The suspects are in custody and will be formally charged for wilful murder, as soon as police questioning is completed. The deceased was in the company of his uncle and four others when they were surrounded and attacked between half-past-six and seven o'clock in the evening, as they were walking back to the university campus. The deceased was stabbed on the chest with a short kitchen knife, and died instantly. Police have also picked up 12 eye-witnesses for statements. The body of the late Laki is at the Modilon morgue awaiting repatriation. Comments are closed.
