Prime Minister Peter O'Neill, has directed the Health Department to immediately dispatch a team to Gulf province.
This follows the recent outbreak of Tuberculosis or TB and Measles in the remote Kotindinga Local Level Government area. The medial team left yesterday, to compile assessment reports on the endemic including, other related chronic diseases. Twelve people, among then eight children, were reported to have died from measles in the area, last week. Over one-thousand-800 people are also suffering from the disease, in the remote Komako and Kamina Wards.
