Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has assured the people of Port Moresby, fuel supply will not be affected.
Mr. O'Neill issued the call amidst concerns the city will run out of fuel following decision by Puma Energy to cut down delivery of petrol and diesel to its distributors. He says other suppliers like Mobil have the capacity to increase services to the market through their outlets and there's no need for panic. "The government is working with many of the oil companies in trying to address this. "There is enough, there is enough fuel in Port Moresby to meet the demands of its residents. "There is no need for our people to be up and about about the consistency of the supply. "There is no need for us to have long queues. "There will be enough fuel in the city to meet the demands of everyone," Mr. O'Neil said. The Prime Minister says the decision by Puma to stop selling fuel is their own commercial decision that has more to do with unpaid import Goods and Services Tax worth K4b.
