The Church and people in Papua New Guinea have been urged to unite as one and move forward.
The challenge was issued by the Bishop of Urban Region of United Church of Papua New Guinea, Reverend Veburi Dabada, during the 9th National Repentance and Prayer Day that was held early this morning. The message was for everyone to fear God, uphold righteousness and justice. The service started as early as five o'clock this morning at Parliament House. Some 3 to 5 thousand people attended the service including students from the University of Papua New Guinea. Men,women and children all dressed in their traditional black,red and gold began arriving at early as 3 o'clock in the morning. By 5 o'clock there was no room left for parking at Parliament.Vehicles had to be forced to line up outside the parliament gate all the way to the National Library and Somare Foundation Building. Various churches took part in the service including the Lutherans,Catholics, Anglicans,and the Seventhday Adventists among others.
