All divisional commanders for the regions are required to the remove of all high powered weapons from officers across the nation and have them locked away in the respective armouries before police men and women return to the classrooms for training on standard operating procedures on the use of firearms and rules of engagement.
This was the word from Acting Police Commissioner & Chief of Operations, Jim Andrews. However he could not confirm if the surrendering of weapons has begun. It is believed after the training weapons will be reissued to selected non-commissioned and commissioned officers.
