Police in West New Britain are alleged to be involved in smuggling drugs into the province from Lae. Provincial Police Commander, Jim Namora, also allege that airport staff from both Nadzab and Hoskins may be involved in this illegal activity. Mr. Namora says, this is because even when security has been stepped up to counter the smuggling of drugs into West New Britain, offenders still get away with the crime. The remark by the PPC, follows the arrest of a suspect, Dwayne Likiti recently. Likiti was attempting to smuggle over 4-kilograms of marijuana into the province on board an Airlines PNG flight when he was nabbed. PPC Namora says, a search through Likiti's mobile phone revealed recognized numbers. He says, Likiti will be questioned further until he reveals information police want. NBC News / PNGfacts
