A police investigator attached with the Boroko Police Station in the nation's capital has been arrested over the murder of a man from Tatana a month ago.
N-C-D Metropolitan Superintendent, Andy Bawa told NBC News, the officer was part of a team investigating the death of former journalist, the late Harold Farapo. "On the Tatana case we also had one of our officers who was arrested and charged on Friday. Sergeant Philip Pokop, he is from Manus. He is attached to CID with Boroko. So that was the progress made on Tatana and we're now waiting for the final investigations to conclude and obviously results will be made known." Meantime, police are investigating the murder of a doctor in Port Moresby over the weekend. The man believed to be in his 30's is said to have died from heavy loss of blood following an attack by unknown suspects. The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning between 3 and 4a-am, at Ensisi suburb. PNGFacts/NBC
