Morobe Police have prevented what could have been a well-planned and orchestrated robbery in Madang province.
Three of Madang’s most wanted criminals were apprehended by police in Lae, yesterday. Metropolitan Superintendent Commander Anthony Wagambie Jnr said the trio were at a hire car company in Eriku when police detectives closed in on them. One of them was in possession of a sketch map of a major supermarket in Madang. Chief Superintendent Wagambie Jnr told NBC's Sylvester Gawi that the three men were wanted for a string of armed robberies and escaping from lawful custody. The first suspect is identified as Terbert Taku Albert of Malaguna No1, Rabaul East New Britain province. He is wanted for two counts of armed robbery and questioning over the murder of a Chinese man in front of the BSP Bank in Madang late last year. The second suspect is Arthur Rainape of Sisano village in Aitape, West Sepik province, has many outstanding cases with Madang police. He was arrested recently and charged for one count of armed robbery and murder of a Malaysian family at Masingan in 2015. The third suspect is an escapee from Beon Jail. Chief Superintendent Wagambie Jnr praised his officers for a good policing work. NBC
