Members of the Student Representative Council of the University of Papua New Guinea have been issued notices stating their permanent termination from the UPNG. In a twist of event leading up to the reconciliation ceremony set for this Friday, the school indicated in the letters that much of the activities which the students had carried out were illegal and was without the University Managements’ knowledge. In the 2nd last paragraph of the letter, it stated that each student had 7 days to appeal the decision of the University Administration to the Council Appeals Committee via the Student Administration Office. SRC Vice President Mr. Arthur Amos said in a press conference this afternoon that some of the excluded students who have already received their termination letter on hand have written back to the school Administration to reconsider their decision and reinstate the students. He said, “The school showed no sign of allowing any verbal communication between both parties but only through written documentation”. Thus, he himself and a handful of his terminated members have done so per their request. In the meantime they will wait on the Council Appeals Committee’s decision after they go through the students appeal. PNGFM/PNGfacts Next News >> Bougainville Copper Ltd has minimal value
