A senior officer of PNG Power as been suspended from his duties for one month.
The board in its last meeting has resolved that Human Resource Manger Luke Ambu be suspended from office, for misleading the board, management and the employees over the pay rise issues. The workers in the recent times have demanded the board and management to pay up their outstanding pay rise of 17.7 per-cent or about 13 million kina, but were refused by the management last Friday. Chief Executive Officer John Tangit told NBC news this morning after the National Newspaper report, that there are technical issues needs to be sorted out at the management level, regarding Mr Ambu suspension. But, for now, Mr. Ambu's suspension is a Board resolution which he as the company C-E-O, will abide by it. Meantime the suspension of Mr Ambu by the board has left the employees and the Union at an uncertain state.
