Parliament will go ahead and sit on August 26th.
This is despite it being National Repentance Day and a Public Holiday. Speaker of Parliament Theo Zurenuoc says he can't say it was an error as the motion was made on the floor of the House and the Parliament has no choice but to meet. Mr Zurenuoc says this will be the first time for Parliament to sit during a public holiday, during his term in office. He adds the onus is on Parliament to decide when it sits on the 26th whether to proceed or adjourn to a later date. Comments are closed.
