The Papua New Guinea Customs Services will now operate as a statutory authority.
This follows the passing of the Customs Services Bill 2014 by Parliament today. The bill was tabled in parliament by Treasurer Patrick Pruaitch and was passed by 64 members in favour to none against. The P-N-G Customs Service Bill 2014 now allows the organization to function as an independent statutory authority. Parliament also amended the Regulatory Statutory Authorities appointment of certain officers Act. Comments are closed.
