Football fans around the world will get a glimpse of Papua New Guineas unique and diverse culture, during the kick-off show prior to the Papua New Guinea and Brazil match on Sunday. The FIFA Local Organizing Committee announced that there will be no extravagant opening ceremony, rather a 10 minute kick off show that will showcase cultures from the four regions of the country and will also welcome the biggest ever football tournament in the country. This will be followed by the first match at the Sir John Guise Stadium at 4pm between Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and Sweden and then at 7pm will be PNG and Brazil. Due to the limited parking lots at the Sir John Guise Stadium host city commission NCDC is providing a free shuttle service from Unagi where vehicles can be parked and people shuttled to the Stadium. Similar arrangement has been put in place for matches at the Bava Park and National Football Stadium where Boroko market has been positioned d as a parking lot. Just like any other major sporting event that has been host in the city, prohibited items such as firearms, sharp obljetcs, food and drinks, spray cans, mega phones, hooters, horns betelnut, lime and mustard will be removed from spectators entering the match venues.
