The Boroko District Court in Papua New Guinea will tomorrow at 1:30pm hear the case pertaining to Iranian Refugee, Loghman Sawari, who fled to Fiji from PNG’s Manus Asylum Seeker Processing Centre, to seek asylum. The case was adjourned from today to Wednesday, after Sawari interrupted the magistrate, stating that the village mentioned was incorrect. Magistrate Maristella Painap told Police Prosecutors to get the correct details of Mr Sawari before 12pm tomorrow before the courts can arraign him. Sawari also claimed that police did not even ask him for proper names to his village so he was puzzled as to how they came up with the village name on his details. Lawyer representing Mr Sawari, Loani HENAO will file a bail application tomorrow. Sawari was charged with falsifying information to obtain a passport and he is currently waiting court at the Waigani Police Station cells. PNGFM/pngfacts Comments are closed.
