Australia and Papua New Guinea Governments have discussed to strengthened economic cooperation between both countries.
This was an issue that was high on the agenda when Australia's Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop met with Prime Minister Peter Oneill and his ministers yesterday. Miss Bishop said it is part of Australia's Foreign Policy to open up for economic, trade and investments and its important to enhance this partnership with P-N-G that is going through economic transformation. ""The new Australia government is determined to make Australia an attractive destination for foreign investment and for trade and business and we want to ensure that the opportunities that exist between our two countries are enhanced.So the focus of my visit here is on economic cooperation"" Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs and Immigration Minister Rimbink Pato said the discussion was fruitful. Other issues also discussed included the Regional Resettlement Centre in Manus, the Australian Aid to PNG, the Visa Application issue, among others. Comments are closed.
