Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill last week met with the Vice President of the China Export/Import (EXIM) Bank, Yuan Xingyong, to discuss issues relating to the EXIM Bank’s ongoing development assistance and concessional loans, towards Papua New Guinea.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill expressed confidence in the continued support from the EXIM Bank for infrastructure projects such as roads, airports, among others. “As you have noticed on your way from the airport, there are a lot of road works and infrastructure developments currently in progress. My Government is confident that we are on the right track and on time with our projects,” Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill said. He said the PNG Government looks forward to working closely with the China EXIM Bank and is grateful for their ongoing assistance. The Vice President then reaffirmed the EXIM Bank’s continued support and sought Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill’s assistance towards ensuring that the loan agreement for the National Capital District Roads Project was concluded before the Chinese delegation departed PNG. Comments are closed.
