Papua New Guinea still remains a highly corrupt nation in the world.
This was highlighted by the Chairman of Transparency International PNG, Lawrence Stephens, when presenting the 2015 Corruption Perception Index yesterday. Mr. Stevens says the ranking has not changed for the better for four consecutive years. PNG was ranked 139 out of the 168 countries assessed on the Corruption Perception Index. The country scored 25 out of 100. Mr. Stevens says the CPI scores and ranks countries or territories based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be, using combined surveys and assessments of corruption collected by a variety of reputable institutions. The T-I Chairman reminded the nation that the fight against corruption in PNG is everyone's business.
