Prime Minister Peter O'Neil says, PNG's debt level is being managed well.
This is despite criticisms that government borrowings have caused it to rise. Responding to questions by former Treasurer Don Polye, Mr. O'Neil told Parliament, that PNG is probably among the very few countries in the world, where its debt rate is in ratio to the Gross Domestic Product. Mr. O'Neil says current estimates by the Treasury Department shows that debts are slightly over 30-percent, but within provisions of the Fiscal Responsibilities Act. Comments are closed.
