Women in Papua New Guinea will soon have a new bank.
It's called Women's Micro Bank Limited which is owned by group of women mainly members of the PNG Women in Business Foundation. Women's Micro Bank, to be located in Central Waigani got its license from the Bank of Papua New Guinea last month and will officially open its door to customers on the 15 of next month. Founder of Women in Business, Janet Sape, says the Women's Micro Bank is the first of its kind in the country which will basically serve women's financial needs. "So we'd like to ask as many women as possible, women/girls, the day that we've waiting for to access banking services will open to the public on the 15th and we will have dignitaries coming here to officially open. So it's a bank. It's here for you to access so please working women, grassroot women, husait meri yu stap, this is your bank. And we'd like to thank the Governor of Bank of Papua New Guinea together with his hard working staff and the government of Papua New Guinea for giving us the support." Comments are closed.
