The trial into the death of Nuku High School Headmaster in 2012, started in Vanimo, West Sepik, yesterday.
Police arrested and charged a former student, John Paul Yawur, with wilful murder, but he has pleaded not guilty. Police allege, Yawur and his co-accused, Jack Lai, who is now dead, killed the Headmaster, after being suspended from school in 2011 for disciplinary reasons. The Court heard, both accused returned to school in 2012 and attended classes on March 12, but they were reported to the Headmaster, who asked them to leave. It's alleged, the two boys went to the boys dormitory and about three o'clock in the afternoon, walked to the Headmaster's office, where Jack Lai shot him with a gun. Yawur is alleged to have run away, but Lai was caught by people around the school and beaten to death. Comments are closed.
