Three suspects have been arrested, in relation to an attack on Acting Assistant Police Commissioner for Momase, Chief Superintendent Nema Mondiai.
The incident occurred last Friday at Lae city's Back Road, when seven armed men attacked Mr Mondiai. Four of the suspects are still at large. The incident occurred after Superintendent Mondia picked up his daughter and was heading home towards Lae town around 5pm. Whilst, negotiating a pothole at the Back Road section, a group of men numbering seven proceeded to attack him with knives, screw drivers and home made pistols. A police media statement regarding the incident confirmed Mr Mondiai was attacked with knife from both sides but sustained no major injuries, whilst his daughter was doing fine but traumatised. Police searched a nearby settlement appending two suspects the same day whilst one was caught on Monday. Investigations are still continuing. Comments are closed.
