More than 20 doctors and 200 nurses of the Mount Hagen Provincial Hospital resigned last Friday after the 30-days ultimatum to the Prime Minister lapsed. Their petition relates to the current state of the hospital and allegation of mismanagement and corruption by the hospital management. The ultimatum includes 6 points over the reason for the mass resignation The medial officer in their petition, are demanding issues relating to an investigation that's currently underway. The ultimatum lapsed on 8 of April but the medical medical workers decided to go further with a mass resignation over the poor handling of their petition and transparency have been seen vague during the investigation.
