More pressure is mounting over the silence of PNG Immigrations office on the resettlement of processed asylum seekers on Manus Island. A resettlement policy for the country had been finalized in October last year with the PNG government pledging to allow refugees on Manus to work and resettle “where appropriate.” It has been 3 years since the Manus detention centre opened but no resettlement has taken place to date and the government as well has not indicated where and when exactly the resettlement of 87 refugees will take place
