A man accused of sexually penetrating a teenage girl has been committed to stand trial in the Waigani National Court.
Paul Pisa, from Mendi in Southern Highlands, is alleged to have sexually penetrated the girl at Gerehu Stage 3A on Sept 10, 2013. The girl was 14 years old at that time. Committal Court Magistrate Cosmas Bidar made the ruling after considering the evidence against Pisa. The defendant will today provide his statement in court, which will accompany earlier statements in the National Court. Bidar said the court had considered all the evidence like medical reports, witness statements and records of interview. The lawyer’s submission on the evidence was considered. He said: “The victim at that time was student at a primary school.” “As a result of the sexual penetration, the victim became pregnant and delivered a child on June 23, 2014.
