A MAN facing sex charges involving two girls under the age of 12 has been committed to stand trial in the National Court.
Waigani Committal Court magistrate Cosmas Bidar committed Maino Andrew to stand trial in the higher court after finding that there was evidence to do so. Bidar ordered Andrew to appear at the Waigani National Court on Feb 17 for listing. Andrew, 27, from Keti village in Okapa, Eastern Highlands, is alleged to have committed the offence on the two girls at a settlement, in Port Moresby, between 2007 and 2012. He allegedly first committed the offence on a girl aged 10 in 2007. There were other occasions between 2007 and 2010. He allegedly attacked a second girl aged eight last year. Police alleged that the two girls, on separate occasions, were paid cash by Andrew to lure them. Comments are closed.
