The National and Supreme Court of PNG today opened the 2015 Legal Year with a dedication mass led by the Anglican Church of POM at the Court premises.
Anglican priest and UPNG Lecturer Father Klower (KLAWA) Maimi challenged the judges and lawyers present at the church service to be responsible and accountable in their profession and uphold the law of the land. Fr. Maimi encouraged the judges and lawyers to always seek Gods assistance when handling serious cases to promote justice. “There are a lot of cases in court but most are unnecessary, because lawyers are failing to uphold the truth. If your clients tell you to lie in court to pervert the course of justice, you must uphold your duty in promoting justice,” Fr. Maimi said. Next news headline
