A major threat is currently looming by landowners of the PDL1 to shut down the LNG Plant site in the Hela Province. According to reports from the Provincial Police Commander Michael Welly, the landowners have threatened to shut down the plant site because of non payment of K19million Business Development Grants which is being parked at the Hela Provincial Government Trust Account. Apparently there is a court order being imposed on the K19million BDG of which the provincial government will not release until legal issues are sorted out. But the PDL1 landowners are complaining that they have not received any form of payments from these monies since the start of the LNG shipment and are now threatening to shut down the LNG Plant site. Police in Hela are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that nothing drastic happens.
