While Lae City residents are mourning the sudden shooting and killing of mother of three, Moanna Pisimi last Thursday morning, another murder incident has also been reported at Eriku, following the weekend of the shooting.
Owner of Morobe Stationary and Lae City’s long time business man, Mr Titi Tan of Asian Origin was murdered in his home on Saturday night. Late Tan was stabbed in the neck and died instantly in his own house located along hibiscus street, Eriku. Lae Metropolitan Commander Ivan Lakatani told reporters today that the suspects are still at large with investigation carried out already. He said, the deceased house is fully equipped with security systems in place to keep criminals away, however, at the time of his death, one of the windows at his house was opened which allowed the suspects to enter the house. Lakatani said police had no knowledge of the murder until yesterday, when of his driver went to pick him up for work. In another reported case, a grade 12 male student of Bugandi Secondary School was killed at Kamkumu block following a commotion over a bucket of homebrew. Lakatani said his death was unfortunate, just like Moanna’s, where police assumed the worst following the way the victim was driving. He added that police gave two warning shots but the vehicle did not stop, adding that Investigations will determine who shot at the vehicle, which killed Moanna instantly.
