The Koiari, landowners of Sirinumu dam in the Central province are calling on the Government to release their outstanding 40 million kina, before hosting the APEC leaders Meeting. The leaders and their people from the five landowner groups met today to present their petition, but were disappointed that there was no one from the government who was present to receive it. They said that the payment is for the power and water supplies they have been giving to the city of Port Moresby and its surrounding areas for forty years.
The aggrieved landowners have given the National Government until the end of this month to attend to their demands or face possible disruptions. NBC News /PNGfacts Comments are closed.
