Electoral Commissioner, Sir Andrew Trawen, says it will cost four-point-six million Kina to conduct a by-election for the Ijivitari Open Seat in Northern Province.
Sir Andrew says, he has asked the Department of Treasury to release the money. He says, teams need to be sent out to the electorate to conduct voter registration and civic awareness. Sir Andrew stressed, the court-ordered by-election must be conducted immediately, because any delay will be in contempt of court. Writs will be issued on September 3rd, polling will start on November 7th and end on the 20th. Wits will be returned on or before December 10th.
