Papua New Guinea’s Click TV and the country’s Seventh Day Adventist Church have signed a partnership arrangement to place Hope Channel International on Click’s national broadcast platform from November 14.
In a major first for PNG, Hope TV will be available for free and uninterrupted on Click TV’s terrestrial and satellite platforms rolling out from next week. Collaborating with the PNG Seventh Day Adventist Church and their regional Headquarters in Australia Click TV has been able to secure the channel for its two platforms so that it can provide Hope TV across the nation and at no cost to the Church. “We are thrilled to be able to be partnering with the Seventh Day Church. It is one of the larger Christian denominations in Papua New Guinea and we see the partnership crucial as it is line with our own strategy to provide content which promotes strong family and cultural values”, Click TV’s Managing Director Richard Broadbridge said. Hope TV is one of several channels that Click has rights to broadcast. The station says it will continue to announce other strategic partnerships of the next few days. “We are pleased that a Papua New Guinea national broadcaster has agreed to partner with our church. Click TV’s offer to carry our channel at no cost will provide a major boost to the church and its activities across the nation” said Seventh Day Adventist Church Central Papua Conference President Kove Tau. Click TV’s on air trials in Port Moresby have so far been successful and the TV platform is counting down to when our set top boxes will be released to market. This is the first time that Hope TV will be carried on a broadcast platform to 100% of PNG. Our members and those interested in Hope Channel will be able to access this content by contacting Click or any of their resellers”, said Mr. Tau. Click says interested subscribers can contact their office in Port Moresby on 3236558 or 70912570 to get more information on their packages.
