The Government-sanctioned Task Force Sweep has been disbanded.
Cabinet made the decision this afternoon, amidst the recent turn of events facing the country's political scene. Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill announced this at a news conference in Parliament, just a while ago. This is among other Cabinet decisions made, which include, the replacement of Police Chief of Operations, Simon Kauba, with Assistant Commissioner Police, Jim Andrews. Kauba's removal was based on him defying Government instructions, while that of Task Force Sweep, related to it compromising its position and colluding with politicians.
