Papua New Guinea Minister for Community Development and Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore, has welcomed the leadership tribunal decision, recommending she be suspended for three months.
The tribunal handed down its decision yesterday, recommending she be suspended without pay for misconduct in office. Delilah Gore told NBC News from her district, she is happy that the matter is finally over and she welcomed the decision. She said it was an unintentional incident and it has been dragged on for too long, however she is relieved and will look ahead with a peace of mind to continue serving her people. Gore says this is a one off incident and she took it as a good experience adding this will not get her down but give her the strength to move on. She has urged the people of Sohe to stay calm and allow the tribunal decision to take effect. Gore was found guilty by the Leadership Tribunal on one out of two allegations of misconduct. This was over an in-flight incident at Girua Airport last year over a phone argument with a flight attendant resulting in Gore offloaded from the flight. NBC/PNGfacts Related News Headline
