FORMER Finance Secretary Steven Gibson has been arrested today for conspiracy to defraud, abuse of office and misappropriation charges for his part in paying Paul Paraka Lawyers K80 million as legal fees which were allegedly dubious and illegal. Mr Gibson 54 from Nihon Village Lorengau District, Manus was questioned at the National Fraud and anti-corruption headquarters at Konedobu this morning before he was locked up at the Boroko police cells.
Meanwhile, Task Force Sweep found that the controversial letter of payment made to Paraka Lawyers was falsified and forged and it was not from the Prime Minister. Investigations are still underway. Comments are closed.
