Papua New Guinea Opposition says foreign investors overlooking the country’s laws and are only worsening the status quo of law and order issue in the country. Leader Don Polye said this when supporting calls by Vanimo-Green MP Belden Namah and Oro Governor Gary Juffa for the Chief Secretary Sir Manasupe Zurenouc to revive the Special Immigration Task Force. He said many investors are not complying with the country's laws, while citizens have been paid their wages well below the required minimum wage ceiling. Polye said some of them are here on Tourist Visas and they don’t know how to communicate in English, Tok Pisin, even Motu. The Opposition Leader has urged the Prime Minister to address this issue. He's also called on responsible authorities to carry out regular inspections to ensure PNG laws are complied with.
