Preparations are progressing smoothly in the East Sepik Province as they prepare to receive the Prime Minister next Monday. The Prime Minister will be in East Sepik to make several milestone announcements as well as to officiate at a number of occasions. Among these milestone announcements and occasions are: 1. Announce funding to complete the renovation and upgrading of the Boram Hospital. 2. Release initial funding for the revitalising of the Boram School of Nursing in preparation for the initial enrolments in 2017. 3. Announce National Government’s decision for the immediate development of an international wharf at Wewak to service the needs of the Sepik Plains Economic Zone and the proposed Freida Mine. 4. Officially open the Yangoru Township Water supply system and the Kwakwie to Yangoru Station 7.5 kilometer sealed road. 5. Launch the Sepik Chicken, grain and Cocoa Innovation project to be developed by State company “Kumul Consolidated Holdings” (KCH) and Israeli Investor company,”LR Group” which represents the first serious investor to invest in commercial agriculture in the Sepik Plains Special Economic Zone. It is understood the people of East Sepik Province will also be present a proposal to the Prime Minister for a state farewell program for the Grand Chief, Sir Michael Somare as he prepares to leave politics after over 40 years in Parliament since 1968. Meanwhile, transport is being arranged to bring people all over East Sepik Province to Yangoru Station where the program will be hosted by the East Sepik Provincial Government and its Administration.
