The National Court has granted a review of the government's decision to abolish the Investigative Task Force Sweep Team.
The court handed down the decision yesterday, after an application to review was filed two weeks ago. According to our court reporter, an interim order was also issued, allowing the Sweep Team to operate. Justice Les Gavera Nanu ruled there is serious questions to be answered on the removal of the Task Force Sweep as well as the set up of a new anti-corruption body. He therefore granted the review. He also issued an interim order for the Sweep team to operate until this Thursday when the matter returns to court for hearing. Sweep Chairman Sam Koim and his team has moved into their office at Gordons and have started work again. The sweep team have welcomed the court's decision. Comments are closed.
