Companies are being called on to implement the new approved minimum wages rate.
The National Government recently endorsed the new rate of Three-Kina-20-toea per hour. The Acting Secretary of the East New Britain Workers Union, Patrick Varagat, says the new rate applies to those working in the rural and urban areas, which should be a relief to those working in the rural sector especially. Mr. Varagat says, the increase in the minimum wage is also a way of financially empowering workers. He's further urging workers to use their wages wisely, and save up. Comments are closed.
