PNG has launched the National Security Policy and Defence White paper . The National Security Policy which contains all the perimeters and guidelines that will govern how PNG security is carried out on both foreign and domestic fronts.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was at Port Moresby’s Defence Force Head Quarters at Murrey Barracks for the event this morning where PNG’s Defence Force put up a stunning parade to commemorate the occasion. A marching band, gun handling demonstration, marching exhibition and even an air show were all demonstrated with the precise excellence that has become normality to the PNG armed forces. The policy was hand delivered to the PM via an armed company that roped down from a chopper that flew in unexpectedly to the delight of those present. Prime Minister O’Neill launched the Policy and Defence Force white paper declaration and told Defence Force interim commander Francis Agwi that he was impressed with the way that the Defence Force was being furthered and added that he would take a more key role in aiding in the issues and developments of the armed forces.
