I would like to remind every Papua New Guinean, especially the re-elected and newly elected leaders, that Governments are formed on the Floor of Parliament and not in Alotau, Kokopo or Airways Hotel in Port Moresby.
The invitation by the Governor General to the Party with the highest declared candidates is just giving that party the first right of refusal. That particular party in this case is PNC Party. PNC Party must then muster the absolute majority of 56 plus Members of Parliament to be confident of forming the next government and electing their nominated Prime Minister on the Floor of Parliament.

In Papua New Guinea, we live in the “Land of the Unexpected”, where politics is unpredictable and fluid. We have witnessed and experienced formations of governments after the General Elections and during many “Votes of No Confidence”. In the last 37 years Governments were formed and Prime Ministers elected on the 11th hour.
The grouping you see now in Alotau is very unstable and fluid. We have three former Prime Ministers who are known in our short history as political masterminds and strategists.
They have tasted power and are salivating once again. They are very vicious predators. They have made governments and they have broken governments. They have contributed in many ways to the destruction of young and up-coming vibrant leaders in Papua New Guinea.
The hatred between O’Neill and Somare is untamable. The feeling of peace and harmony is very shallow and artificial. History has shown Somare never forgives and forgets. He will do anything to lure members to his side or he will enter your house to destroy from within. He is a master in deceit. His un-ceremonial removal from Parliament last year is a lasting memory for generations to come.
So everything you see in PNC, NA, PPP, PDM and all other minor parties out there in Alotau is a replica of small pond with to many large sharks inside.
The so-called Government formation led by the caretaker Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is structurally and inherently weak.
My appeal to the newly elected and re-elected members of parliament is to come to Kokopo.
If you stay in Alotau you will be suppressed and marginalized. You will be used as mere statistics for someone else’s gain.
My message to Peter O’Neill is that you have now exposed yourself and vulnerable to a bigger political power play. Your best option is to work with the Government that installed you as Prime Minister on the 2nd August 2011. That is the Government with structural strength.
However, if Peter O’Neill is already comfortable in bed with Somare, I appeal to my bothers, Hon. Don Polye, Hon. William Duma, Hon. Powes Parkop, Hon. Sir Puka Temu, other minor political parties and Honourable members who are in the Alotau camp to form a coalition of young, vibrant, selfless and God fearing leaders.
I am calling on the coalition of young and vibrant leaders who have their people and country at heart. Lets come together with the aim of bringing major policy reforms to our country.
I am prepared to discuss and to offer the position of PRIME MINISTER in the interest of our people and our country.
MAY GOD BLESS MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY, PAPUA NEW GUINEA.
