The Governor of the National Capital District, Powes Parkop, says Port Moresby is rapidly running out of land for development.
He has asked the Lands Minister, Benny Allan, if his department has any plans to lease customary land for expansion. He says, State land is running out, and talk of land grabbing also applies to customary land. He says, all the land outside Port Moresby towards Mt Diamond has been bought, and he has questioned how municipal governments can plan in such circumstances. Meanwhile, the Northern Governor, Gary Juffa, says the issue of land grabbing in his province is becoming serious. RNZI Related Post
